If there’s one food that signifies summer, it’s BBQ. From pulled pork to beef brisket, it’s the BBQ sauce that really pulls it all together. Perhaps that’s why family BBQ sauce recipes are guarded so carefully and passed down from generation to generation.

Ingredients: Pineapple Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium-size pot, except for the cornstarch and the water, and allow to come to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Mix equal parts cornstarch and water. Slowly add to the sauce until desired consistency.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool before refrigerating. Store in a squeeze bottle or airtight container.

Ingredients: Spicy Mango Barbecue Sauce

Instructions:

  1. Puree mango, onion, and garlic in a food processor until smooth.
  2. Combine puree with the remaining ingredients in a saucepan, stir until combined.
  3. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool before refrigerating. Store in a squeeze bottle or airtight container.
