How You Can Celebrate Your Housiversary

Your First House | By Rebecca Poole | 4 Likes

Owning a home is a big milestone in your life. Whether you’re marking the first year in your new home, the fifth, or the twentieth, there are many fun ways to celebrate your housiversaries.

Take photos

Who doesn’t love a good photo op? Use the fall foliage to your advantage and gather the family for some pictures outside of your home! Hold up your keys in the photos to share on social media how excited you are about this momentous occasion.

Host a dinner party

Dinner parties can be as low-key or as extravagant as you wish, and what better excuse to host friends and family than the anniversary of buying your house? Take it up a notch with a theme, like a flannel party, and make some amazing bites that anyone can enjoy.

Start thinking ahead

You’ve been in your house for at least a year, so it may be time to evaluate what could be improved upon. There are renovations big and small for any budget. Sit down with the family and make a plan of what could be tackled this fall.

Show off before and after pictures

Everyone loves a good before and after shot, especially if you moved into a fixer upper that needed a lot of work done. Show off the progress you’ve made on social media!

Get the neighborhood together

Connecting with neighbors is important, even if you’ve been in your home for a longer amount of time. Some people live in their neighborhood for years and still don’t know everybody. Host a potluck or organize a larger party that will get everyone mingling.

Celebrate your homeownership with these ideas and share them with us on social media!
